Drain issue on panamer4 ehybrid cost discounted 75% by dealer for 2550
Can’t pull out the charger from my 2018 panamera (still under warranty) and car won’t start because of it. Towed to dealer diagnose with poor drainage rusted and ruin electrical. Is this cover under warranty? Service told me that the drains need to be flushed every year during maintenance, my car has only 8669 miles in it and the last time free maintenance was done on 1/2020 at around 5500 miles. Basically they are arguing that my car was not up to date with maintenance therefore the cost is not covered. But willing to discount 75% of the cost for $2550 to fix. Should I accept or what are my options.

did the first year maintenance then next service was 2 years 20,000 looking at some of the dealerships sites on maintenance is every 2 years. I just barely went over by a few days plus my mileage is 8700 even though they keep saying regardless of mileage the timeline is a factor too. Nevertheless seems like i will have to accept it for what it is.

When you drive so little, you should be following the maintenance schedule for 'months' instead of 'miles'.
Last service being 25 months ago unfortunately puts your car pretty far behind the time-based schedule.
Those drains can clog in a very short period of time if you routinely park outdoors or under particularly messy trees.

I would accept it for sure. How you guys keep getting these things covered is beyond me. They wouldn't give me a single penny for my stupid batteries that were barely out of warranty. Not a penny. Take the 75% discount and thank God you're not me............

I don't remember this drain flush in the service guide...not saying it is not there, but if it isn't how in the heck are you supposed to know to do it? Sounds like a bad design but they might have you.

It lists (among many other tasks) to "Check firewall body drains and sunroof drains for debris" to be performed every 1 year or 10k miles.
As an aside, my 2016 Mercedes C300 had a similar design concern; failure to keep the sunroof drain lines clear would result in water intrusion to the main ECU and a whole host of issues/errors.
