I have replaced the clock spring. Physical replacement is easy; however, you will need the PIWIS to code the VIN. The problem with the clock spring replacement is that the steering wheel options are coded into it. These options need codes from the Porsche to reprogram. I was able to buy my codes for $100 from a Chinese PIWIS seller and your age of car will allow you to enter those codes and turn those features back on. If you don't program in the codes which are VIN specific, then you will lose all steering options like heater, push to talk and ACC if you have it. The Chinese only sell you codes that are original to your car. Basically they have a technician in their pocket who can log into the Porsche network to retrieve the codes. Your dealer can program those codes as well and will likely charge you an hour to do so. You need a special socket to remove the wheel and you need to disconnect the battery before removing the air bag. This might be something you let the dealer do.

@rbrunelle Is the angle sensor a part of the clock spring assembly?

yes. There is a yaw sensor under the dash but the steering wheel angle sensor is part of the clock spring assembly. I don’t think it can be purchased separately.
