Did you also get PASM failure, transmission failure, etc?
Happened to me few weeks ago, 2018 P4ST, I pulled over to a parking lot, shut down the car, upon restart, everything seemed ok. I took it to the dealer, they said my battery voltage was low. I didn’t agree as I had the battery fully charged the night before I visited the dealer. I noticed days prior to the incident, the voltage was low while driving, around 12.2 V, not normal when your alternator is pumping +14V.
Anyhow, they recharged the battery and cleared the stored faults and called it a day. I think there is some charging algorithm that’s messed up, however, I don’t have any proof or basis to question them.

I had the same issue happen to me a few times where I was able to clear with a restart of the car. I’m not exactly sure how much time elapsed before I had a complete electrical failure though where the battery was discharged and alternator had to be replaced. This problem led to the car still being in the shop because of some climate control issues and a replacement of the front seat module. The car currently is not saving any comfort settings and the technician believes it might have something to do with some programming being erased from one of the modules.
I have a non-hybrid vehicle.

hi, i got the same issue。 whats the issue now?
2023 GTS Manual 1,400 miles. I have not driven the car for four days. I turned it on today, and the engine control fault message showed up. Restarted cycle and message was still there but it cleared out after a minute or so. Drove the car for 40 miles and I had no issues. Restarted the car a couple of times during the trip and the fault did not return. I have a scheduled oil change in a couple of weeks. I doubt error codes are stored but I will ask. I have seen the battery, fuel cap, fuel type, miss fires but I did not find any solid root cause in the thread. Did I miss something?

Did you resolve the "Engine Control Fault" code?
My 2020 Panamera eHybrid throws that code once every 100 or so starts. It starts the combustion engine in some very rough mode. I've had two dealer shops look at it and they report no codes stored in the ECU even if I show them a photo of the code displayed on the dash. They've replaced ECUs. They claim Porsche has no guidance.
Fortunately so far every time it throws the "Engine Control Fault", the fault clears when I shut the car off and restart it. If I didn't know better I'd guess it's a synchronization problem between a bunch of ECUs on startup, but you'd only find that with a CANBus analyzer and some luck at reproducing the problem.
Porsche USA is EXTREMELY unresponsive to owners and tries to delegate owner communication to dealers who don't have enough information.
