VIN Analysis
Hey team,
https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...ab2a70hl120963
Any issues with...
1.) Between 09/03/2019 and the next record, 1/6/2021, the car went from 12,565mi to 36,453 and there is no servcie interval recorded. Red flag or typical with a used car/Carfax discrepancies etc.?
2.) 40k mile service appears to be missing. Would it be reasonable to ask the Audi dealership that is selling it to have the 40k servcie done as a condition of sale?
3.) Finally - this dealer won't allow a PPI. They told me they don't want the vehicle off the lot, tied up at some Porsche dealer or independent in the event someone comes in looking for it and it's not on their lot. They also told me they have a former Porsche technician on staff and he looks over all their P cars. Sounds a little fishy but so far they have been easy to work with, so not sure how to take this.
Thanks all.

there are some (somewhat) horror stories floating around here about supposedly CPO'd cars that had some serious issues.
On that front I think you'd have to go by your gut feel. sadly there are some really unscrupulous dealers out there

You’ll find two CPO camps; PPI always, no PPI. Both have merit. I’ve bought 2 CPO P’s without PPI and both been great cars. 911 sight un-seen out of state. I researched both dealers, and they were solid so felt secure in purchase with warranty for any issues. 911 never needed any CPO work and was as they described. Panny has had small things develop, but over time, so PPI wouldn’t have found anything. Think CPO focus should be on maintenance being up to date, especially time based. If within 6 months that’s what will cost you, eg new battery, plugs/air filter, belt, PDK fluidetc. That could be 1200+ expense 4-6 months after purchase.
I 100% agree that if a P car doesn’t have a history of the services and the big 40k service is coming/due, you could be paying more for the car overall. Then, with no wiggle room for even an inspection when you asked them, this might be a car that you should pass on. There are plenty of reputable dealers out there but with the current market, I fear that there may be more than the average amount of abused used cars out there with the demand being as it is. Good luck with your search.
