Default 2016 or 2017 Panamera?

Hi everyone.

I am new to this forum and I would appreciate any help and advice you can offer.

I am either going to buy a 2016 Panamera GTS or a 2017 Panamera 4S (the ‘17 is going to cost about 15K to 20K more).

I love the idea of having the V8 in the ‘16 GTS and I think the ‘16’s exterior and interior are more interesting but the ‘17 is the newer design and comes across as a bit more elegant.

What should I do? Is the ‘17 4S worth the extra money or is the ‘16 GTS the better choice.

Thanks

Andrew

Depends on options, mileage, history, etc

The V8 is special. Sounds nice and is smooth. I recall not being impressed on a test drive with the 6 before I ordered my 2014 GTS. But the 6 cylinder motor has changed since then and there are probably other technical advantages to the newer model but not enough to justify that price differential IMO.

I would get the v8.

I was in the same boat as you about a month ago and opted for the ‘16 GTS. It ultimately came down to the driving experience for me. The cold start on the GTS is wow and I really felt the v8 when I drove it. The tech in the ‘17 is bananas compared to the ‘16 however the feel was a little disconnected for me. It was like being driven by the car and not doing the driving. I’ll say that I wish I had carplay but I actually pay more attention to driving now and so overall I’m thrilled with my choice.

From when I was going through the same decision process, I decided the newer tech, platform, etc.. was worth the upgrade to the 2017 4S. This review here might be helpful:

They got 3.6 to 60 out of the car and that's even without the super-cheap piggyback tune solutions that can get you to low 3's (ie: the one I'm selling in my signature).
