Unhappy 2013 Panamera 4s B Pilar trim replace

My 2013 Panamera 4s has extreme sun damage on the outside B pillar trim. I bought the part to replace it but I can’t find anything out there on how to do it. We found some screws and a rivot behind the rubber trim but we don’t know if all the chrome trim needs to be removed and if we have to take the inside door cover off to? Does anyone have instructions...Porsche wants to charge $900 in just labor to replace them.

Thanks. We’ve watched that video which helped some but the Panamera is a lot different with a lot of chrome trim that I think needs to be removed. The mystery is trying to find how their connected and how to get them off without ruining it all. I just refuse to pay $900 in labor. I can’t find manuals or videos anywhere.

I totally agree; if you figure it out or find some help please post how it's done. I'll do the same. I purchased new B pillars when I bought the car 2 years ago, but after looking at what needs to be done I've backed away until (like you) I've seen how to do it.

Having the B pillars covered in a black mylar does seem to do the trick; my drivers side came that way from the previous owner and unless you really look close, it's hard to tell.

We’re definitely going to film it once we find out by digging into it!

I wish we could have wrapped the old ones but it’s cracked and chipping so bad you would see it underneath.

Default New video

I have significant degradation on my B-pillar trims and want to replace them, but wasn't confident to go ahead on my car. So I bought a door from a scrap dealer and experimented. The video of the whole process is here:

Hope it helps some of you folks.

When I bought my 2011 PTT in 2018, it wasn't long until I noticed the B Pilars had been covered in a black mylar. Over the next year the mylar began to look bad with bubbles etc. Somewhere on this forum I learned that there was an ebay seller that sells a thin hard plastic with a 3M adhesive that works great and looks completely original. It takes only a minute or two per door pillar to install. I highly recommend this and I am not affiliated with the seller, other than just a customer: https://www.ebay.com/itm/114256696540 .

By the way, I purchased two Drivers side B Pillars that I was going to install before I learned about this ebay quick-fix, so if anyone wants to buy my new unused B pillars for half price plus shipping, let me know.

LOL, I tried, wraps, 3M stick ons and paint... the 3M appliques looked the best but only lasted about a year and a half before they started to lose adhesion in the heat. I finally bit the bullet and had them done. An indy attempted it, he charged me $350 for one, but ruined it in the process and had to replace it. Then he said "no mas". I was forced to go to the dealer where it cost $1850 for the remaining three. In the process they bent the window trim and had to replace all of it... with parts I'm just shy of $2500. OCD has its price!

I'm doing this job right now. It's a pain in the rear for sure. Remove door panels, the door subframe...pull apart a bunch of seals, drill a couple rivets and it's out but going back together is the hard part. Getting a lot of the seals back in is a huge pain, plus cleaning all the factory double sided tape takes for ever. Very tedious. I'm doing the all 4 B pillar panels as well as the trim around the windows.

My pan4 is black metallic paint, i bring the car to bodyshop to paint the plastics pillars to body color, $350. It looks GREAT ... No worries about peeling any more.

Same as Marcus. Works great and I don’t even notice them anymore. Cost is so low that it’s easy to change them out when they start looking bad.
