Default What Do You Do When . . . ? Potential Purchase Question

So I'm considering getting a Panamera, and there's one available here locally that meets most of the specs I'm looking for. The "problem" is it's being sold by the place where I'd take it to have a PPI done if it wasn't the place selling it. They're locally known for being a big part of the Porsche community, and they did a great job on the PPI of my Cayman. There's another local shop I could take it to, but I don't like them as much and they're more of a BMW place than a Porsche place (though they service all luxury European brands). Do I bite the bullet and take it to the backup shop? Or trust that the selling shop has done (or will do) a thorough inspection?

a good shop wont take a dump on its rep just to sell you a car. especially if they are a big part of the Porsche community, word gets around and then they are out...

I agree with Dogwood. They're not going to ruin their reputation over one car sale especially if you've used them in the past and were happy with their work.

That's what I was thinking, but it's nice to have confirmation. I should also note that the owner, whom I admittedly haven't met yet, is a member of the local PCA chapter. I gotta thing that if something disastrous went wrong early on and it was something that the shop should've caught he'd work with me to make it right.

Thanks.

wont hurt to have an extra set of eyes laid on it , this way you wont second guess yourself (even if they aren't the ones you prefer)

If it’s the place you typically go to they have way more reasons make sure they sell you a good car Than they have to sell you a headache. They will make more money off yiu with service. If you buy it from them and need $5000 is repairs then first year, why would you take it to them?

If it’s the place you plan on having it serviced, they have even more reasons to keep you happy.

Have all major fluids changed. Have brakes made fresh with the purchase. Check the Air shocks for leaks, the cooling hose glue and the AOS for wear. Take it out and drive it hard. If they can find service history, make sure all services that would be needed are serviced before you buy.
