Really? I can't remember the last time I have seen a sedan on the road with three people in the back. I would argue people who want to fit three in the back buy a large SUV or minivan. I can't think of a single sedan that honestly seats three adults comfortably in the back seat. Three adults in the back seat of a sedan is useful for nothing more than taking coworkers for a quick trip from the office across town for lunch. I would never stuff three clients in the back of a sedan.

It never ceases to amaze me the extent to which people will deny the existence of a market opportunity for a vehicle which doesn’t happen to fit their wants or needs or preferences. If you can’t understand the differences between a 2 door Panamera coupe and a 911 then I don’t know what to tell you.

You're grossly overestimating the cost of adapting the Panamera platform for two doors, and grossly underestimating Porsche's margins.

i thought something as basic as a manual transmission certification takes a year and costs huge numbers. making a 2 door version should be a big time job to get certified

Maybe, maybe not. But you’re also ignoring the size of the market. It’s not competing against the 911 but against the S class coupe, 6 (now 8) series coupe, and even other high end GT cars with two seats as there are no doubt some who might like (but don’t necessarily need) an actual back seat.

sorry but I see the 992 as competitor to mb s, bmw 8, aston, Maserati, etc. p coupe is redundant imo

Your continued inability to to see beyond your myopia is astonishing. Tell you what - I will bookmark this, and happily cede the last word to you, as an insistence upon it is a sure sign of a feeble mind and an even weaker argument.

hahaha and an advanced mind like you most certainly have, turns a disagreement into name calling?
happy to be feeble in that case
lets see what Porsche decides to do and then we will know who is correct.

911 in all generations has a nearly useless back seat.
Coupe sedans like the S63, M6, M8 have useable seats which are inconvenient to access but still able to fairly comfortably seat an adult.
That is the whole point of the panamera and potentially a panamera coupe. Basically like an S63 coupe fighter that actually puts priority of performance over softness.
