Default Marks on paintwork

Hi,
Car shines up great, but I have these two marks on the paintwork at the rear tyres. Any ideas what it is it how I can clean them???

Hmm. Not sure but looks like a caked-on layer of road salt maybe? Wonder if a (GENTLE!) application of a clay bar or compound would help?

You might be spot on there. Disappears when washed, then comes back when dried out....
Might get a bit of bar and try it on a wee small patch...

Cheers
