Default Advice Wanted: Discount on New 19 Panamera Turbo?

Hi All - New to the forum. I'm planning to buy a new 2019 Panamera Turbo. MSRP is ~ $175,000 (US). Curious what I should expect to get in a discount. Thanks in advance for your experience and advice!

Problem with 18s is car options are almost gone.

Last I checked there were something like 70-80 Turbos and 15-20 Turbo S e-Hybrids, all new 2018s sitting on lots, if you're willing to get a Sport Turismo.

There are also scads of executive demos and slightly used CPOs (as in 5-6000 miles).

Dealers are being super aggressive with them. If the ST is of interest, hard to believe you couldn't find a build sheet similar to what you'd order.

The problem with that is that most of those cars are gone if you go in and check. They just want you to call.

edit. I just looked and there are a lot of turbos that are oddball options and colors.

IMO cannot get this car without a V8 and PDCC.

Maybe I got lucky but I didn't have this experience. I priced my ideal build, then contacted dealers with cars at similar MSRPs and asked for actual build sheets (much more useful and precise than whatever they put on cargurus or the like). Some cars turned out to be very similar to my build, others wildly different, despite the similar MSRPs. The magic of Porsche's option sheet I suppose.

Anyway, in no case across maybe a half dozen inquiries was there "no car" or a different car than what was pictured, priced, and described. But as I say maybe I just got lucky.

In one case, on a car that was drastically different in options than I'd want - again despite a similar MSRP - my inquiry resulted in the sales manager calling me to more or less beg me to come test drive it, promising that he'd make me an offer I couldn't refuse. They were openly advertising $30k off and he not so subtly implied that he could/would go much lower. I actually felt kind of bad for the guy, but because the build was so "wrong" for me I just didn't want the car.

This is really helpful feedback. It doesn't seem like there's much difference between an '18 Turbo and '19 Turbo. Is that right?

I think the primary differences are in color selection.

HOWEVER, there's another thread asking about potential differences between 2018 and 2019 PCM, both in terms of speed and CarPlay handling.

The posted compared the PCM in a 2019 Cayenne (a loaner) with the PCM in their 2018 Panamera. They report that it feels faster and more responsive. Also, they report there being more icons displayed in CarPlay, but they're going to re-confirm that.

I find the 2018 PCM "fine" though it's no iPad. Snappier is always better, but I'm not sure I'd get a 2019 vehicle for it if I could save so much on a 2018, so long as the build is to my liking.

15% off 2018's.

I know because I've looked.

Thumbs up

I got a 2018 4s. I was waiting earlier on a 2019 build slot and came across my 2018. For what I was going to pay on a lightly option 2019 with a 6% discount. I paid thousands of dollars less for a highly option CPO 2018 with only 2500 miles. The only thing that I don't like is that its black. I wanted volcano grey but, for all the extra options I got and the price. I can live with it

2018

i too found slightly used Black 2018 4S Panamara optioned premium package and sport package 850 miles over 20% off pays to check each unit with the build sheets half the ads are not very descriptive. I’m still waiting for it has to be shipped across country . I didn’t get exactly how I wanted but for the thousands saved I’m fine with slight interior color difference I would have preferred chalk black interior than bridge black interior . The rest was exactly as I would have optioned which is lucky since there are so many combinations .
