Default Second Delivery

Has anyone actually done a second delivery? More specifically, can you do a second delivery with a dealer other than the one you bought it from (I purchased mine 250 miles away).

Yes you can do a second delivery with a dealer closes to you but that depends on the relationship you have with them and how accommodating they are after finding out you didn't purchase the vehicle from them. Hopefully you did not work with that dealership at all when trying to get your vehicle.

For my part, I am buying (very) remotely, and did not speak to the nearest dealer as I'm buying a new 2018 that was on the remote dealer's lot. When approaching the local dealer at this point, how should I go about this..?

Your best bet is downloading the "Good to Know" app from Porsche, it is a great app and can walk you through anything you want to know about your car specifically. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/good...578575559?mt=8

Also you will want to download the Porsche Car Connect app, this will be a great way to introduce yourself to the Porsche Service department since they have to manually enter the code to the vehicle when setting it up. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pors...675059864?mt=8

If the dealer you bought the Panamera did not send you the proper email to set up your car connect or you need help with setting up an account, please PM me and I can help get you set up.

I purchased my 2018 Panamera E-Hybrid from a dealer in LA but I live in the Bay Area. While my car was on order, I met with the Service Manager for the local dealer I decided I would be using for all my work. We had a great meeting and he advised me on the proper break in drive up from LA (~400 miles) fully understanding I was picking the car up from a different dealer. The key factor is the Service Department and the Sales Department are separate P&Ls at most dealerships so the Service Department will be more than happy to have you as a customer even though you didn't buy from them. Just go and sit down with the Service Manager to have a "get acquainted" meeting. I did in fact have a second delivery at the local dealership a few months after bringing it up and it was actually performed by the Sales Department but still had no problems.

Thanks for the tips, and the offer to help - that's excellent of you. I have the Good to Know app and will be pouring through that in the coming weeks until the car arrives (I'm away the next 2 weeks so we are scheduling for after that). Just D/L'd the Connect app and asked the dealer to send me the info...

Thanks for this - also very helpful! I will do the same though am considering working with a local shop rather than a dealer. Have to decide...
