How does $750.00 sound for replacing the horns on a 970 ?????

Kinda steep, but I just got quoted $1,800 for an oil change and to fix the thermostat connection (glue came loose and high risk of sudden coolant loss) - and another $1,800 to replace the front brakes. These cars are just expensive to repair but still worth it! For something like a horn, I'd sure be looking at any after market options including a fog horn.

It’s only expensive because you have to remove the bumper (fender) to get to the horns. Which are cheap VW parts.
Removing the bumper isn’t difficult at all. Takes a couple of hours if you are on your own and go very slowly and whilst you are in there you can change the air filter (It’s a MANN C69 226) and vacuum out your radiators.

Removing bumper is not difficult. One of the 1st DIY’s I did when I got the car to change my own air filter. If I can do, you can do no problem. Here’s a good write up:
