Default Frustrated...Reliability Issues

Wife has a 2014 S e-hybrid. This car has bee to the dealer for the fourth or fifth visit, because the car fails to go into electric mode. The problem has been sensors replaced and a charger replaced. She picked it up on Thursday (sensor replaced), and I drove it yesterday to the gym....check engine light came on. The service people at the dealer are extremely nice and attentive, but I am frustrated that these problems keep reoccurring. It is a CPO that was bought when it was a year old with 10,000 miles. The vehicle was the manager's car before we bought it. At some point the warranty will run out. Sounds like I need to be out of the car before then. Until then, it's a royal pain in the rear to keep having ti go back as much as we do.

Is it time to contact Porsche North America? Any other suggestions?

Is it within the years/miles to qualify for lemon law in your state? Overall, I would definitely get PCNA involved.

In general, these cars are reliable. Porsche was #2 behind Lexus in the 2017 JDPower survey. I haven't seen the 2018 results. That doesn't mean no one has problems, but what youre experiencing I have not heard a lot about specifically with the hybrids. I'm fairly new though. That's a annoying.

If you really like the car, I mean really like it, consider getting a different car, maybe the turbo, or just another hybrid. Its possible you just have a car with a bad history, and I'd hate to go out of warranty with that in the back of my mind.

Sorry to hear of your woes. I was a lucky winner of a local Porsche dealership's contest back in 2014 and got to drive the car for a week and absolutely loved it. I still think about the e-hybrid and would love to have one even today. Hope you can get things sorted out. I would definitely sit down with the dealership's GM to have a serious discussion before having to escalate to PCNA. Good luck!
