Panamera Air Suspension System Info
#16
I've had five blown tires in a year and a half since owning my 2018 Pan Hybrid-Executive. Five. All on the right side. The first two were on a graded gravel road. Yes, we have rocks in AZ, but both the front and rear Pirelli's blown? I was pissed and had the dealership reshoe Michelin Sports. Then I was forced into a lane marker, one of those white 1/4 rounds you see everywhere. Blew both the Michelin's. Today, I hit a minor pothole and blew the front sidewall out. It was a pill of the first order as my wife is in a wheeled chair and we were effectively stuck on a major AZ highway and had to wait an hour and a half for a tow. I cannot go on like this. Not with the wife in the wheeled chair. I love the Pan, except for this bizarre defect. Could it be the suspension. All blown tires have been on the right side.

but, I do have all my stock air struts , that are in perfect working order. If you want to purchase them, let me know!
Good Luck!

Is it normal for the car to lower quickly when you turn off the ignition then close the door on exit before locking? I thought my suspension on the right front was lower than the left but when the car is running the system seems to work correctly, once off the right shock drops at least 15mm quickly but only after I exit the car and close the door.

Maybe if you park on not level ground.
in level garage, shocks typically work similar at front and back (as pairs).
if one shock acts different, start checking for leaks. Or valve block issues, or level sensors issues.

Really weird. Did you inspect tires to see where tears originated and how? Rim inspected for sharp edges? Clearance on wheel well stock or not?

Start assuming you have leak. Spray. Follow thread, one item at a time to exclude. Uphill parking can result in panamera trying to level itself and lower front per your parking info.
Leaks, bad valves, electrical connections, level sensors, ecu, would be order I would choose. Good luck and make thread with issue then update. Others can benefit from details.

Hi,
I've recently purchased a Panamera 4s 2010 with 50K miles on it.
in the mornings I see the front end of the car sitting really low and I'm getting an alert "vehicle extremely low".
I must mention that I am not parked on a leveled ground but rather in a slight uphill with the front end facing up the hill.
Where should I start looking into? shocks? airlines maybe?
BTW: I must mention that Ciaka's posts are pure gold. I've red another post about upper control arm which I'm going to be replacing this coming Saturday.
please keep up with those detailed posts.
Thanks,
Kobi

Thanks, Porsche inspected at last recall and sprayed for leaks and said all fine. Car is still under warranty so I really want to get to the bottom of this asap. Car does it on level surface and only on the front right (drivers side). Not slowly leaking, it literally drops like it is lowering in a second or so.

If it drops quick, there is a line leak (the air line connecting to the shock), or the air line crack somewhere between shock and valve block (unlikely but possible), or at the valve block, or internally inside the shock itself (no way to repair or troubleshoot).
Everything else is isolated so that more than just one corner would drop.
One other thing. sometimes when leak is bad enough, it can actually be in the other shock too. Check for leaks in the other front shock (top, with soapy water), as well as spray the air lines too.
If this happens so quick, my guess is shock internally bad. But you should spray all other components to make sure other pieces are good, before repairing, so this does not continue.
Update us on your progress. Thanks.

Did it do this every time you parked? Mine in quite intermittent. Can be OK for a few weeks then happens again then seems to go away again!
