2019s

technically, any car that was produced after May 2018 is a MY2019 car. But things are different this year due to the new emission regulations (WLTP) - the transition is as of September and technically speaking only a couple of models from the 718 and 911 family is available for custom build, at least the case here in Europe. However, forum member FriscoTexasGuy did write the other day that he is getting a MY2019 Panamera in November. So check with him I would say.

I sent my build over to my SA for a Nov delivery on a Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo and he confirmed it will be a 2018 model year. There is a lot of conflicting data out there, I’m giving hard data on a car that I ordered this week. With the refresh being recent, I’m less concerned about what model year the car is.

I was just told by my dealer that a couple 2019 allocations started coming in over the last few weekends. Specific vehicles ready for custom adds with November/December delivery here in Texas. Trying to decide if I am ready for the change from my Cayenne GTS.

HUD
Frisco, when you ordered your 2019, were the options and pricing the same as online 2018 configuration? I was hoping they would introduce a HUD like they did with the cayenne. It’s the one option I’ll miss from my Audi. Also, are they fixing the vents to allow manually moving like the cayenne? Thanks

I am not sure who defines 2018 or 2019 in the US but fact is that according to Porsche, all the cars produced as of May 2018 are 2019 models (for example the color mamba green is available on 2019 models which have been produced) models. My car was produced in June 2018 and somewhere in the paperwork I say a MY2019 written.
The only issue we have this year is the change in the emission testing which is causing delays in the production as of 1st September. So if you have a build slot confirmed, take it because there very few of them till Q1 2019...

MY is stamped on the VIN plate on the door and listed on all documentation so it's very clearly defined. If the car gets registered as a 2018 MY that's what it is and that's how it will always be called out on all official documentation. Matters not at all when it was built.

My dealer here in Dallas sent me this note regarding my 19 order. Not sure if anyone else is aware of this.
Just spoke to them again. It’s because of the 2019 announcement. They have not publicly announced the 2019 Panamera. They will announce soon and then open the configurator up for 2019 codes.
