Volcano Grey?
Impressions, likes or dislikes of this color? Considering this with Black/Chalk leather interior.

Took delivery of my VG with VG 21” rims last week. Absolutely love it! I blacked out the window trim, model designation and other features and went with moderate tinted windows. Paired it with Bordeaux red/black interior. Have already gotten so many compliments on the color and the rims.

My only concern - is the color too severe or drab? Or does it have other stuff going on? Does it change color or hue depending on the sun, etc?

Different lighting brings out different colors. When it’s overcast or dark, it looks pretty standard darker grey. In the sun or light, there are hints of blue and green. It’s actually a fairly dynamic color

First photo is in sunshine, with windows tinted
Second photo is In shade (delivery day).
We are enjoying our Volcano Gray 2018 Panamera 4. It has a lot of metal flake with greens and blues (as stated above). It does change with different lighting conditions.
It shows dirt relatively easily (it’s still a very dark color), but it’s actually better than we expected.
I have an Agate Gray GT4 and the Volcano looks significantly darker, and much more metallic by comparison. I like the Agate - it is also changeable with different light, but the metal flake is much more subtle in the Agate. Because Agate is lighter it hides dirt a bit better.

I have a 2017 Panamera 4S - Volcano Gray with Bordeaux/Black interior. I picked it up March 14, 2017, so I have had some experience with keeping it clean. I really like the color when it is clean. Unfortunately, that's only about the first day after it's been cleaned! This color is a dirt magnet like no other! I have owned mostly dark blue cars (Porsche's, BMW's and Mercedes) in the past 20 years and I have never had this much of a problem. Based upon my experience, I would not choose this color again.

Needmoregarage, I see you are using the same dealer as I use. I just ordered my Volcano Gray 4 E-Hybrid. No delivery date issued yet. I have a similar colored Audi now and I am expecting this color to be hard to keep clean looking. But knowing that, I still like the way it looks and how it appears different under different light conditions. Have any of you used a ceramic coating/seal on your new car?

Pana TJ - congrats on your order! Exciting!
We had the front half covered in Xpel Ultimate, and then Opticoat Ceramic over the entire car, including the wheels. All our cars have Opticoat. We find them easier to wash, and they also stay a bit cleaner, longer. This was especially true when we owned the racing yellow GT4 (our only yellow car - ever). That car would show a spec of dirt the moment after it was washed. After the Opticoat it seemed to "repel" dirt longer. Almost as though the dirt was statically attracted to the paint before the ceramic, and then after there was less "static" attraction. I don't understand the science but we noticed a difference.
It's a pretty color but if you want low maintenance it's not the best choice - but it's still better than black...

Thanks needmoregarage, it is an exciting time as this is my first Porsche. I appreciate the advice and having darker cars most of my life, I know what it takes to keep them looking good. I just can't get excited with the lighter colored cars.
I plan on installing the clear bra as well on the front end. I just do not know much about the ceramic coatings to know what is best. I have Opticoat on my Audi now and have been happy with it. I am sure I will go this route or something similar. Thanks again for your help and good luck to you with adding on to that garage.......
