Default 2018 Front tow hook license plate holder location?

Was using the license plate holder that screws into the front tow hook from http://www.usmillworks.com/ on my 2014 P4S with Park Assist with no problems. I took it off the old car and installed it on my new 2018 P4S w/Park Assist without any changes and the parking sensors on the bumper see it and cause a persistent alert.

Has anyone with a 2017/2018 with Park Assist used a tow hook front plate holder and found a location where the sensors don't see the plate? My holder has the flexibility to connect the plate to the tow hook bolt in various locations, just trying to avoid trial and error if someone has found something that works.

Hopefully there is a way because I really don't want to drill holes in the front bumper.

What state do you live in? It seems some states requiring front plates are pretty lax on enforcement. In Mass. the police don't seem to bother people without front plates. Now if you get stopped for something else, they might cite you for a missing plate.

Use a fictitious AZ plate in the back only.

No parking sensor problems for me using the USM product. I do see just a little bit of the license plate in the front wide angle camera view but not too much obstruction. I would think the 4S normal bumper would be easier to work with positioning the license plate. I wish USM would supply a longer tow hook bolt so I can position more to the left.

Ca driver here....also have the RL tow hook, and like many others just keep it in the frunk if needed. Never got a ticket for it - knock on wood.

I have one of these plate holders from another car I was thinking about using. Can't you see the parking sensor in the bumper and just avoid it, or are the sensors hidden somehow?

If I was OP, and I asked about front plate mount options, and then everybody ignored my actual question and told me to ditch the front plate altogether, I'd probably be annoyed.... Buuuuttt....

Leave it off.

lol

I haven't had a front plate in 25 years of driving in a state that requires it, and I've gotten 1 ticket for it. I'm willing to pay that "tax" rate.

FWIW I had the same USMillworks on my 2018 and didn't have any issues tripping sensors or anything. Try angling it a little more away from perpendicular to the car maybe?

I've sold the car so can't get any other/better pix sorry to say. As you can hopefully sort of see it's pulled away from the bumper on the right and pushed toward it on the left. (Toll transponder on the outside because I could NEVER get it to read from the inside no matter where I put it).

Yeah I think that would block the parking sensor on my 2022 unless you could adjust it pretty low:

It's tough to see in the version I uploaded but I have the same sensor dots on mine and was able to locate it below so it didn't interfere. I *think* there is some flex on the vertical as well, though probably best to confirm with USM. Sorry can't be more help.

I thought I had posted a pretty clear picture in my earlier post but here is how it is for me (below) Parking sensor highlighted in red circle and the red square is where I have the bracket mounted,. I have since installed the quick release bracket but can take photos of other angles if you like while the plate is installed later this evening.
