Bank 1 and Bank 2 Catatlytic Converters

What would cause both to burn out and clog?

Very often this is caused by a overly rich full mixture. Normally a CEL will trigger for any condition that would damage the catalytic converts.

If the O2 sensors go bad, too much fuel gets dumped in and that will ruin the cats. You should have got a CEL or code pop up if that happened. Go read what codes are in the ECU.
