Default Panamera 2017 Diamond Key forgetting setting

I have my diamond key configured to turn on Park Assist. It remembers it sometimes but a lot of the times, it would forget my setting.

Does anyone know what the issue is?

Saw someone mention a similar issue in a different thread. May be a common problem. Also saw some say they program diamond for Auto Start/Stop for a simple way to shut it off. Thinking I may do the same. What do others use it for?

For a Park assist I find it easier to push the park assist button on the car ceiling. I also use the diamond key for start/stop.

I use it to skip to the next track. It's annoying that there are no hard buttons to skip forward or to repeat a track.

Is there a way to skip track while using Apple Carplay? It seems to work when using bluetooth or USB but not in carplay..

I don’t know. I don’t use CarPlay.

Also skip track. #1 gripe that the instrument screens do not show media which is then controlled with steering wheel.

That's strange I had a '15 Macan S and seem to remember it having that function. Not positive on that. My Panny wheel now doesn't even have volume though...

Speaking of gripes, I've looked at a lot of new Panameras and have been wondering why there's three times less leather on the dashboard (with the full leather interior), then on the previous generation.

The Diamond Key was not working at all for Skip/Prev Track in CarPlay, despite being set up properly, when I tried it on a test drive 2 weeks ago on a 2018 base Panamera. I just bought a 2018 4S and the diamond key track control now seems to be working reliably in CarPlay. I know that I updated my iOS version in the interim. So it could be the newer version of iOS, or it could be something Porsche has quietly done themselves. either hardware or software. So if you update iOS to 12.0.1 and that doesn't work, then I'd ask the dealer to look into.

Anyone else have the diamond key working (or not working) for skip controls in CarPlay?

What Panny do you have. My 2018 4S has "+" and "-" buttons on the left side of the steering wheel which DO control volume for CarPlay and everything else. Do you have those + - buttons?
