Default How to tighten up this interior piece...?

Hi -- I've found that both driver and passenger door arm rest continuations are loose (the little "bump" in low/mid of picture) --- anyone help me with how to snug them up...?

Other than a trip to the dealer....

Thanks...

Kevin

I had the same problem. There’s a plastic/rubber piece in the front of that continuation that can be removed by prying with your fingernail or something similar. There’s a bolt underneath that can be tightened so that the continuation no longer moves.

Thanks for the tip. Adding armrest extension to the text here for those searching for this. Also, the screw has a T25 head.

Take the entire piece off because there is a plastic part that can click in place locating the part closer to the pillar. Then place the screw and tighten. Mine was always sticking out further than necessary.

I had the same problem with the loose armrest extension. Took to dealer because car was still under warranty. Told that it’s a very common issue and poor design. Something on the inside (maybe plastic tabs??) breaks and then it keeps giggling. Mine was replaced under warranty but I had to wait a number of months as part had to come from Germany! Was told by the dealer that Porsche spent a ton on replacing these under warranty on the 970’s. I think it’s been redesigned in the 971’s.

If your car is still under factory warranty I encourage all to check and take to dealer before out of warranty! It wasn’t a cheap replacement part!
