The buttons on the BMW Performance (Accessory) wheel control the LCD in the rim - those are not paddle replacements. That is NOT the M3 interior.

"The new gearbox also works a lot more quietly than before and blips the throttle on downshifts – previously a feature reserved for the M Double Clutch Transmission."

Well, that's pretty interesting in a manual...

ZMT – Manual Transmission

Perhaps AP can ask BMW for some help with how to make eDiff, suspension, etc work with both manual and auto boxes…..

The engine is what makes a driver's car truly "special", and very, very few turbo engines ever pull that off. This engine will not be one of those exceptions.

The engine is basically a standard motor, but with a different block to handle more stress/boost/heat. Top end and architecture is virtually the same as a N55.

I'd like to have a GT3 in manual (as opposed to PDK) as much as the next hardcore old-schooler. But in fairness a comparison with //M is unfair--for every GT car Porsche sells, BMW sells 10 of their M3/4s. A very different set of numbers over which to amortize R&D costs.

Business aside, I stubbornly uphold my belief that Porsche will come up with a 6MT box to sell in some "edition" special of theirs, marked up 30% over the normal -3 or -3RS...

Dealer just informed me that I got a January build slot. Mar/Apr delivery. Have no concerns about the motor not being entertaining on the street and more than happy to give my money to a company that listens to its customers.

I'm torn, the E90 is a pretty great car, and a 8500rpm V8 is hard to beat.

while i agree in general about the special edition MT, but the extra cost at some point stops making any sense (not that it made sense in the past) but u get the picture. the $ delta b/n gt cars and M cars getting bigger and bigger.... hum..... then there are some very special AMG's....
