GM has catered to older people with the squishy seats and the isolated steering/ride because that is what the largest cross-section of their audience wanted. It seems with the C7, GM is trying to still cater to that audience, but is also able to cater to a sports car audience using technology and the enhancements and engineering designed and built into the C7. It seems GM is trying not to rely on old, lame excuses anymore for their shortcomings. That is refreshing.
If serious about getting a Corvette, and in the GT3 price league of spending, maybe consider a GM credit card. 5% cash back on the 2014's could knock another $3k off a Vette's price. Um, it means running 60k on it, before you buy. But think of gift certificates to get it prepped/lowered, the pre-paid manications, or how about that special Detroit delivery!

I cannot imagine ever seeing GM putting a Turbo on a Vette.
I just thinking there is forces within the co that won't let that ever happen.
But Supercharging on the other hand...
I can only see them Turbo on a V6, I'm into Buick Turbos ad much as Porsches.
But V8 and Turbos I don't see them ever doing that. Just something about them being againt putting a Turbo on a V8 - don't know what they have against it.

It was told that the ZR1 was SC simply because they could get the performance they wanted with the 4 lobe Roots blower and thus the plumbing was easier. I wouldn't be surprised in the end if the next ZR1 is SC for the same reason. Still, we might be surprised I bet a pair of small turbos would fit.

Man, I'll tell you though, once you get ventilated seats in your DD, you'll never look at another vehicle without them, especially in hotter states (TX here). My CTS-V has them and my wifes Lexus SUV has them and we will never go back.

" The 2014 Corvette Stingray is just hitting showrooms and Chevrolet is already hard at work developing the next Z06. A new report coming from Car & Driver claims the track-tuned new Vette will have a new name, the Z07. And yes, it’ll be more powerful than the outgoing Z06. By how much? Sources are claiming to expect the Z07 to pump out some 600 horsepower from its V8. But here’s the thing: that engine may not even be the naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 that powers the Stingray.
In order to create the proper balance of power and fuel emissions, Chevy may go with a turbocharged or even a twin-turbocharged V8 that will displace "significantly less" than 6.2-liters.
Remember, the Z06 had a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 hp, so in order to get that extra 100 or so ponies while not completely killing off the O-Zone (or by violating government regulations) pumping some extra air into that V8 may be required. So what engine could this be? It’s possible that Cadillac’s 500-hp, 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 will be called into service. This also just happens to be the same engine under the hood of the beautiful Cadillac Elmiraj Concept.
The sole gearbox offering will probably be the seven-speed manual. We can also expect the price tag to jump significantly. The Z06 started off at around $76,000 but the Z07 could very well tip the $100k mark.
That means it will be going head-to-head with the likes of the Nissan GT-R, Ferrari 458 Italia and even the Porsche 911 Turbo. Whatever the case ends up being, expect for the Z07 to debut as a 2016 model. "
