Hard to argue with the torque they put out.

But those laptimes are about the same as an amature in an RS on slicks or a pro on MPSC? Surely it is faster than that??

if it does not stretch you out financially, then why not...

I say go for it.

If I had the dough and the space, I would add a last year ACR just for grins

No affiliation but why not the N-ring edition while you are at it :-)

Do it. Everyone I know with an ACR has also bought the X, and loves both cars. I've run against them in all sorts of stuff and have never been able to keep up. If I was in the market the ACR-X would be my first option for a track car.

A viper is pretty rude and crude compared to a corvette much less a Porsche. My Viper was the only sports car I didn't enjoy owning. Like a stone age axe compared to a scalpel.

If you decide to get an ACR, then look for the ACR "hardcore package". (radio delete etc).
Alot of fun.

The competition Viper "ACR-X" is full caged, not road legal and you will get sick of trailering it for the sake of track days. So i would stay away from that model.

Right now, if you have the cash, i would be thinking about color combos if i were you

Amazing - think uphill esses at VIR...

Not sure about the 1,000 lbs, but there's great aero front and rear.

1,000lbs of downforce at 150mph according to Insideline.com and only 173mph top speed because of it:

I've driven many Vipers on road and track and always loved them. They aren't scary at all but do required the driver to be smooth and disciplined. If you want to just mash your foot and go fast get a 911 Turbo or a GTR...if you want to master a machine...get a Viper!

Watched an ACR run a sub 2:00 lap at VIR during the 2008 OLOA on Michelin PS2 street tires. So yes they are FAASST.
