Get back on your FAIL boat.

The BMW M1 was designed after the 1972 BMW Turbo concept car which pre-dates the DeLorean prototype by 4 years.

Both (DeLorean and M1) were designed by Giugiaro

Big turnout? Anything else there "special"?
We had LOTS of special stuff there Sat., you missed a good one. Look for the thread in the 993 forum for the Nashville Cars-n-Coffee, user Tannermash has a link to a bunch of pics he took. It was hot but the cars were worth it.

Found the link to TM's photos

This one has been on display at The Imperial Palace in Vegas for over 10 years:

Maybe only 10 were initially imported by Jaguar back in the day. Many more have been certified since, probably due to the exotic car exception that is also allowing a handful of 959's to be registered.
I got that from the owner. His car was the last one produced and though it's a '93 it was produced in '94.

Cal Turner who puts on the TN Tubs (356) BBQ event every year at his farm had 2 M1's on display at the BBQ 2 years (I think) ago, I'll see if I can find those pics.

I saw that car at the DFW cars and coffee a few months ago. I took some pics too. It's remarkable, and it very good condition. Not concours, but still rather tasty.

Found the white one from Cal Turner's '08 TN Tubs BBQ. No idea if he still has it. I suspect not.

I had the opportunity to buy a white one just like the one pictured above back in 1985 when i was bringing grey market cars over to the US. As others said it was not as exciting to drive as many of the other cars I had the good fortune of test driving and the build quality was less than a comparable Ferrari of the time. If they weren't asking $200,000 Swiss franks or roughly $40,000 US with exchange rate i would have purchased it.

Considering I could have had a 930 turbo for $12,000 US a lambo Countach for $16,500 or a Ferrari 512BBLM for $28,000 at the time which I also couldn't afford, it didn't seem like a wise purchase. Sad to say the 512LM sold for $860,000 US a few years after it was imported for $42,000 profit over asking price.

As far as looking like a Delorean sorry not even close in so many ways. It might have been designed by the same designer but I would say a Delorean looks a lot like the Bricklin but not the M1. I have 2 Delorean's living around the corner and they just don't have anything on the M1.

The race versions had to be one of the sexiest cars ever made.

The only thing more rare than the M1 the OP shared IS the matched luggage

Stop it. Just stop. This is like saying Michelle Pfeiffer chews with her mouth open and hogs the covers. Just let me live with my fantasies, 'kay?

Love the car, but those damn wheels are absolutely hideous. They look like the cheap plastic spatter cover I use in my microwave.

Well considering she lived in the same town during the time I was in HS and we had some common friends I met her quite a few times so I can assure you she didn't chew with her mouth open.

Feel better now.

Far more rare, and based on what I'm reading here probably more fun to drive.
