For amusement, my 20 year old 964, with a full leather interior, far heavier seats, a nice stereo, a metal body and even a leather covered metal roll hoop, weighs 200 lbs less than the Lamborghini. Of course, this particular 964 does make use of a bit more technology in a variety of areas.

EDIT:
Really? here's Wiki on 964 weight:
Curb weight (to DIN 70020): 3,031 lb/1,375 kg (C2); 3,100 lb/1,406 kg (Tiptronic), 3,252 lb (1,475 kg) (C4)
The total weight of the concept is 999 kg which translates into a healthy 2,202 lb.

Actually, a standard 964 Wide [Steel] Body Cabriolet weighs even more but this partiular 964 weighs less than the Sesto Elemento. And if it had a carbon fiber body, easy to do carbon fiber components such as doors and an interior as stark as the Lamborghini it would be less than 1800 lbs. As to safety features, I do not believe that the Sesto Elemento is compliant with regulation (nor, at this point, does it need to be as it is a show car). Finally, while the shape is eye catching, one wonders if all those sharp edges are very aerodynamic.
