Default 400 500 600 HP club

Curious when you all joined and with what cars. The 400 and 500 was in close succession for me, 600 took another 12 years. The 700 might be a hybrid at some point.

400 - 2007 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT
500 - 2009 Ferrari Scuderia
600 - 2021 Huracan Evo

Funny. I’ve been going in the other direction. My two favorite cars are my 993 (285 hp) and my Radical (165 hp).

+1

Power as an independent metric is pretty useless. My 1,890 pound 73 911 hotrod with ~235hp feels more potent than most 400hp and 500hp cars (and definitely more exciting).

well, heck with a Radical, 165 hp is MORE than enough!

OK,
400 - 2003 M5
500 - 2009 CTS-V
600 - 2016 GT-R (and also 2008 GT2 with tune)
700 - 2018 TrackHawk

981 GTS, 991.2 GT3 RS, 720S - most fun is the 981 GTS with 330HP and LSD, most thrills GT3 RS (dedicated tarmac rally car), most excitement 720s (let it rip down a straight on a track).

The greater the HP the lower the usage

Well done on the 765lt - I was in big time - full MSO and all the blacks - but location/COVID/delivery did for me. The touring route with the GT3 is definitely the way to go.

The current trifecta seems to be a Touring, a RS and some form of McLaren

Agreed, horsepower alone isn't a useful metric for enjoyment. I just got back from a drive with the 3.2 911 with the targa off, and not once did I worry about how much horsepower the old girl have.. The post was more about how enthusiast progressed in time with getting faster cars. I think most car guys go faster to a point, and then start getting nostalgic about cars and stop worrying exclusively about pure speed.

GT350 in Dec 2017 and 991.2 GT3 Nov 2018.

526 and 500hp.

Edit - Additional comment, I'm of the camp that I don't understand the horsepower race. Unless you are on track (and even then there's a hp limit), what are you doing with all the power. My GT350 purchase was to scratch an itch of American muscle car and I had been eyeing the 350 since the 2015 autoshow, good deal for a new car on the lot in December, bought it. GT3 was for track.

Takes skill. To make fun of others, while disguised as self-depreciation.

Dan (would have said “I have a small *****” and then, forget to make the point)

Dan needs word check. "self depreciation". self deprecation". If you mean sarcasm was lost, then Dan must know something about small penises.
