Hellcat
Doubt anyone that appreciates the scalpel sharp driving dynamics of a 997 has any interest in a Hellcat with it's crappy plastic interior, unrefined suspension, cumbersomeness, and brute force.

I tend to disagree with Petza. Although I have not driven a Hellcat, recently I did test ride a Scat Pack version with the 485HP Hemi and six speed. The interior was fine and did not feel or look dramatically cheap to me. The ride was surprisingly smooth, tight and comfortable on the 20 inchers. The V-8 rumble and power and torque it puts down going through the gears put a smile on my face and i could see having just as much fun with that as my 997 C2. Granted through the twistys it would be a different story. This was a slightly used (less than 700 miles) going for 41k? So do i put up the 41k and add it to the stable, or sell my C2 (say 32k) and put out another 40k for a newer version 911 that also has cheap imitation aluminum in it? Anyway go test ride one, not sure what your intention would be with the Hellcat, but I'm sure it would put a grin on your face, but I think that price point would be higher ($55-65K). I love my C2 and the newer versions, but lets face it, they are overpriced which in the end just gives us a little exclusivity over everything else.

Im a car ****. I get to rent a bunch of fun cars while on the road. Favorites are Stingrays and Challengers. Love to play with them both, but not enough to take home and meet mama. Maybe the Stigray though as the wife also like them.

I would probably have a Hellcat Charger or GT350 if all the dealers in my area hadn't been charging a markup; which I refuse to pay just on principle. Even with same dealers dropping their markup and now discounting from MSRP, on Hellcats at least, I won't buy from them. And at that point other cars came onto my radar.
Instead I have an order in for an Audi RS3. It will either supplement or replace the 911.

I have a 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T (5.7 HEMI 6spd tweaked to 400 hp) by far the most comfortable car I have for long distance driving. I also have three (3) yes three MINIs (R52 6 spd and 2x R53 6 spd with the JCW kits 211 hp)...a MG Midget 4 spd (whopping 50 hp) and a couple of motorcycles share my garage space with my 911.
Each unique in the way they drive and feel, I enjoy each for what they are and the joy they bring me... so, maybe I'm not a purest ... even when I go to the grocery store and they ask paper or plastic I tell them it doesn't matter because I'm Bi-Satchel.

I have never owned an American car. Lots of 911's, Jags a couple of Ferraris, Land Rovers and a Lotus.
I rented a C7 Stingray on a whim. That car is a slam dunk world performer. No more cheap interior parts, wonky suspension and iffy reliability.
You can rent one for about $150/day. If it doesnt make you smile, check your pulse.
Ill get one one day, its just too much fun to pass up.

Charger/Challenger Hellcat... all far too heavy for me.
The Hellcat is 4500lbs.. thats about as much weight as I'd have in a family SUV. Matter of fact the Porsche Macan is lighter.
If I was going to buy a car with a weight problem I'd have gotten a GTR.

In addition to the 997 I have a C6 Corvette. I feel like they are two completely different driving experiences, both equally enjoyable to me, glad I have both.
As for finish quality, well, the leather wears equally as bad on both, I have more rattles in the 997, and the Vette may have generic Chevy pickup truck interior fittings but it doesn't peel if you look at it sideways like the soft-touch paint in the 997.
As for reliability, well, I'm in that camp whose 997's engine fell victim to bore scoring, so not the best person to poll on the issue if you're looking for affirmation of the 997.
