Hello Everyone! xThundersZ here.
I bought this one month ago, a 1999 996 Carrera C2.
I got it bonestock with 158k miles no maintenance or service history. So far did all the maintenance fluids already, refreshed the suspension a little bit,
added getty design wing. Change the whole SAI system cause I cant pass smog but now im deleting the SAI. Seems like the passage for the Air is blocked in the engine.

ims not done, Idk if previous owner did it, but im driving the car almost 7k rpm all day everyday no issues.
stock brakes, wheels are ssr gt3 with advan a052 yokohama for best driving experience.
change the steering wheel aswell and some weight reduction mod.
6 week ownership, so far loving the car! I can full throttle in turns at 65-75 mph! Way different handling than my other cars.
location: Socal SGV

haha yeah! I see most of its power is near the redline. I just got the Soul performance tune yesterday and it felt alive at low rpm. I cant wait to try it at higher rpms. Cant go out cause I took some parts for painting yesterday

The “softronic ECU tune” Did you have a pre tune dyno? Or just after you spent $1K it FEELS different? Do you have any internal modifications? Bolt on intake/exhaust?

My butt dyno feels it. I have a 300 whp Honda K series Dc5, and a 880 whp a90 supra that I use for time attacks to support as experience. The tune made low rpms alive, throttle got responsive and heavier. Only mod is header. According to them the tune is open looped therefore any mod I push to the car, ecu will readjust the tune base on AFR.

I’ll add IPD plenum next week.
this car is fun

current mod: SAI delete, header.
car is cable throttle

I’ll get it dyno’d once I get my trunk back. Changing map in the ecu is pretty easy. Takes few mins

You have a Honda, a Supra and a Porsche? I have no idea what a k series Honda is. I have a little knowledge about the new Supra. Why go NA 996? I’m guessing the Supra is $50k, another $20k to get almost triple HP gains, supporting mods , trans. Suspension etc,,,,why not go turbo 996?

Yep the Supra was expensive haha. My supra costed me a supra. The reason I got the 996 is because I wanna feel the feeling of having a rwd rear engine car. The power isn’t a problem since I have the supra. Im more onto suspension + NA porsche experience 😁 so far loving the Porsche community and the car 😁❤️
