First Porsche: Green 996 Cabriolet
I bought a 2001 911 Cabriolet a couple of weeks ago with 130k miles on it. I have always wanted a green car and the one I purchased is in Rain Forest Green Metallic. I had a 2016 Miata as my daily driver for the last 2.5 years and this 996 has replaced it. I have had the passenger radiator, clutch/RMS (IMS had already been updated), engine mounts replaced, and the hydraulic arms of the soft top rebuilt. The clutch and the engine mounts made a huge difference in how the car feels. I just had the function first shift right kit delivered and I am excited to install that onto the car. The shifter on my Miata felt a lot better honestly so I am hoping this kit will help with feel.
I was not planning on jumping into Porsche ownership this soon but absolutely enamored with my car!
Want to get rid of the window tint I think

The steering was a lot firmer in the Porsche was the immediate difference I noticed. I have not really pushed the car yet to get an understanding of their differences but man is this thing much faster in a straight line. Have you had the soft top on yours replaced, I am debating doing mine come winter.

Beautiful car. Love the color. I too made the transition from a Miata (NA) to a 996, although not a convertible. Spiritually very similar cars and you're right about the steering. There is a wee bit more power in the 996. :-)
