Hi Sandyman, welcome to rennlist! I'm not too far from you in New Braunfels. Which 997 did you end up getting? I was looking at 997.2 GT3 but not sure yet, between that or possibly an older restomod, or even a 992. Lots of nice 911's out there.

Thank you, M2RC! I bought a 2010 Carrera S cab six speed. Super excited about it. I test drove a 997.1 Carrera S coupe back in 2008 and nearly bought it, and I've always come back to how wonderful the steering felt and what a confidence inspiring vehicle it was. I expect the 997.2 will be even better. I went ahead and got a cab since I have small kids now and want them to enjoy the car.
A 997.2 GT3 would be incredible. But yes, there are many good choices.

Texas
I moved from California also, I'm from Santa Barbara and ended up here in the San Antonio area. It's really nice here but a lot less taxes and regulations. No smog checks or cops pulling you over because of mods to your car! In fact all the do is a safety check here to make sure all your lights are working and everything is OK. You can take your CATS off if you want to, the only thing you have to worry about is warranty on new cars as far as mods go. And the cost of living here is much better. If you have any questions about Texas let me know.

So, hopefully we’ll meet sometime. Thanks
