This pissed me off. As you know, I do primarily bariatrics, and enough of it to keep busy. I still like to do some general surgery, and am always happy to add a case, etc. I don't have much of a general surgery referral pattern, but a few things come in, and especially when my patients need something I want to do it. Anyway, I'm in my office today signing stuff and there's a note from a GS in town on a guy with an inguinal hernia that he's gonna do. I did the patient's lapband about a year ago, and he just saw one of my nurses for an adjustment - doing great, lost 90lbs. His FP refers him to this other GS for his hernia. Don't tell me neither one knows I do hernias! I know the politics; the FP's Dad is a retired GS that used to assist me until I hired an RNFA, and the GS he apparently refers to is a guy that I was instrumental in permanently kicking out of our call group when his privileges at both hospitals got suspended a while back.
Lame.
