    Ken,

I'm sure the manual is simply trying to cover all the bases. Every clutch seems a little different to me, and you simply have to adjust yourself to what it takes to move the clutch disc off the pressure plate.

Best of luck for that new Boxster buyer!

    Hi Dan,
Sorry, got another question for you. (probably not worthy of a group discussion)
A friend just bought a 2012 Boxster S. In the manual, it states the cluch should be "fully" depressed upon each change of gears. As a result, my buddy depresses the cluch to the floor on every gear change. Frankly I've never done this. On the Carrera, less than 1/2 cluch depression allows you to shift cleanly, and thats what I've been doing. Is the manual way overstating.... or am I doing some damage?
I've had manual transmissions in some form or another all my life and I've never depressed the cluch to the floor to shift. ??? I did however read it right out of the Boxster Manuel.

    Thanks Ken

Hi Dan, I had followed your post regarding the 997 hardtop and would like to check with you to make sure I get the proper mount of the hardtop.

Is this picture showing the final position of the locking mechanism cover (part #9) for driver side? The reason I am asking is on mine, there's some visibile big gap between the cover and the cross bar.

Do you know what's the color for your part #9? is it grey or graphite grey? I too have the same color as yours and would like to match the circle cover for part #9. I have black internior and the grey/graphite grey backlite shelf trim #8 and #9 completely doesn't match my black interior.

Is DSCN88141.jpg showing the part #6 locking mechanism cover? Do you know the part number for it?
Can you please tell me what's the part # for DSCN88191.jpg and what is it for?

Dan Your comment about what women think still has me laughing to this moment. Keep up the good work. Phil
