Thanks for your prompt and thorough reply. Sorry (once again) that I did not confirm my vehicle ID (yes, it is a 987.2 Cayman Base).
It is surprising that the torque spec for that critical bolt is so elusive. The 44 ft./lbs. came from an advisor at FCP Euro, where I plan to buy the parts.

    Hi James,,

I looked through AllDataDIY for the 987.2 (assuming that's what you're asking about) - and can't find the torque spec for that bolt. I also went through the service manual (all 600MB of it..) and no spec. I then went to the 987.1 service manual - and no spec.

Where did you find 44ft/lbs? If it's the Pelican article, I'd question it since it appears to be for the 987.1 engines and they have a much different serpentine pulley setup with multiple idlers.. I would hazard a guess if you used the standard torque for the bolt (based on size/thread) you'd be OK. If you're worried about overdoing it - then I'd suggest loctite BLUE on it and tighten until snug. The blue will keep it from backing out. 44ft/lbs sounds awfully high for something threaded into aluminum.

Very odd that I can't find torque spec's...
