Hi Ron,
My jerking at low speeds was solved by a specialized Bosch shop that tuned my K-Jetronic injection system. The guy told me that the air/fuel ratio was way off, the car was having too much fuel and, at low speeds, it couldn’t burn it and the car “choked” with the extra fuel. If I accelerate, no problem, but if someone is behind the car will see some blue smoke of the unburned fuel and also a very strong fuel smell. And, of course, the car was making a very poor MPG average.
The problem is that the PO for some reason was messing with the adjustment idle screw and, as the Bosch guy told me, that can’t be made alone, it has to be made in conjunction with the air/fuel meter adjuster.
Sorry if I can’t be of more help but I’m really no expert, when I have a problem a little more complicated on my 928 I prefer to take it to my mechanic.
Hope you can get it solved quickly.
All the best,
Ricardo Pires
