I recently lost a piston (at least) from my 2007 Carrera S during an open track event. The car had ~110k miles and ran perfectly well prior to the event. I removed the oil pan and found pieces of piston, rod bolt and coolant mixed with the oil. I will not be repairing this engine and am wondering what the best way to part or sell the engine. Should I remove items (exhaust, intake, accessories)... should I disassemble partially or fully the engine... or should I just offer it as is? Are there any parts or assemblies that still have value? I'll be keeping the chassis and swapping in an LS.
Thank you very much for your feedback and guidance.

Reason: additional information
You might have better luck and an easier time finding someone who wants it whole for an LS, K, or 2.7 swap. Parting out will take time and patience. Certainly some of the ancillary parts from the engine still hold some value and could be sold on ebay or similar, exhaust, intake, starter, etc...

Sorry I wasn't clearer. I am only looking to get rid of the engine. I will keep the chassis and do an LS swap. I updated the original post. Thanks!
eBay is your catalog for part pricing. I would go there and look at what folks are getting for used alternators and such and then do the math... is it worth it to you? What is the whole carcass going for on eBay?
Then check the maritime websites ... what are boat anchors going for?
Peace

Check with Slakker. They gave me a quote on my engine but it wasnt worth it for me as I am in Canada. I ended up getting a bit more than they offered, but my engine had a full borescope/compression report and was still running with no decrease in horsepower.
Not sure if they would want yours in the condition its in, but worth a try for an easy sale.

And now I gotta ask......I remember your build thread with the paint & body parts, etc. etc. What did you end up doing for motor?? (Forgive me if you already have a post about it and I've totally missed it)
