Just switched over to a full FVD/M&M set up so I figured I'd see if anyone has use for my old "oem plus" set up. I've tried MANY different configurations on my various 996/997 gt3's, and this was my favorite in terms of sound and power (other than my new set up, hence the sale). Was running this on a 996 gt3 (same engine architecture as a 997...just need a center exit bumper and the 996 turbo muffler bracket, which is teh same as the 997 gt3 bracket). Perfect for someone looking to be able to pass emissions or go back to stock-ish (or like me, desiring to convert a 996 gt3 to a 997 gt3 set up).
Comes with two perfect condition headers with integrated cats (cat material in great shape...guaranteed no cel or issues, see pics). The "wetness" visible on the header flanges is just from pb blaster I used when removing the header bolts. Center exit exhaust with black sharkwerks 88mm tips. There is a small little dent on the very bottom of the center exhaust from road debris, apparently, which is not very noticeable even when staring at it, and effectively invisible when mounted on the car...totally structurally sound...been running this since 2017 and the dent was there when I got it). The flash photography makes the dent look bigger than it is. No cracks or rattles or anything of that nature. Fabspeed side bypass pipes (dual outlet, which is what I prefer as it sounds better and IMO flows better than the "single bypass" style that uses a block-off plate for the upper center muffler holes...I've tried both styles), some scratches from mounting and unmounting. All required clamps, bolts, and gaskets (except for the muffler bracket...re-used mine on the new set up). Clamps alone are like 500 new IIRC. Love the sound with this set up, with the added benefit of loosing quite a bit of weight by ditching the heavy (and hot) side mufflers). Also love that you have so many options with this type of set up given the modular design that lets you swap in various different components as long as they maintain the stock geometry.
I think a fair price would be 3,400 (plus shipping). Would entertain trade options for rs 4.0 clutch parts, 996 turbo ehxaust parts, or other interesting offers.
Will work with you on shipping so you can use the shipper of your choice. Paypal goods and services is fine. If upon arrival they don't meet your expectations, I'll take them back and refund you as long as you pay for the return shippping. Thanks for looking!
Would you be interested in only selling the flanges and gaskets?
Hi there no, several people have asked but Id like to keep it all together. I actually likely have a buyer for the headers and gaskets and clamps so those components are likely spoken for.
Update: Headers are sold. Would do $600 for the side pipes (currently the non-valved version are $1,371 new from fabspeed) and $800 for the center exhaust including the sharkwerks tips (which sell for around $450.00 new).
Hi! Do you have any videos of the FVD setup? Did you go stainless or titanium? Which options?
cheers
Hey there, no videos yet. Car is on the lift as I type getting a new clutch (should take me about a week if everything goes smoothly and I don't need to order more parts LOL!). I did the longtube headers, 200 cell cats, into an "m&m" style center exit exhaust. All stainless. Made enough power over the listed system that it basically started to cause the clutch to slip as soon as it went on! I suspect most of that has to do with the cats.
