Hey guys. Looking to see if anyone is interested in trading me for my 2004 Laguna Seca Blue over black M3. Primarily looking for 996 Turbos, Cayman R’s. Driver quality GT3s? Open to offers! Really want to see what’s out there. Hoping for something ‘driver’s focused’. Money can be added in either direction. Will also consider Cayenne Diesels / GTS.
Context: This is my…14th(?) M3. I have lost count. I have been lucky enough to drive and own many, many cars. Even so, E46 M3s still stack up as one of the best driving experiences you can obtain for the money. However…at this point, it might be time to explore something different.
I purchased this car out of an incredibly tasteful collection located at The Thermal Club. This car was built to be daily-drivable (both myself and the prior owner have used this car on the street, I have been driving it to work lately)—while being incredibly competent on track and twisty roads. In my mind, this is the E46 M3 GTS that BMW never built. It was initially built by Will Turner of Turner Motorsports in 2012, and has since been serviced by Strom Motorsports, with an open checkbook.
Modifications:
- 3.4L engine, initially built by an ex-PTG employee. Recently refreshed and completely gone through by Strom Motorsports. This engine features a billet marine crank, forged pistons and rods. 288/280 Schrick cams and DLC coated lifters. Etc.
- CSL intake
- SuperSprint V1 oversized headers & section one
- Suspension fully setup by Turner Motorsports. The car rides beautifully, and handles like a dream.
- Recaro Sportsters
- Half bar with accompanying rear seat delete panel installed by Turner Motorsports.
- Carbon fiber roof panel installed by Turner Motorsports. Painted body color.
- Forgeline wheels
- StopTech brake kit front & rear
- Full body PPF
- PWR radiator, Motorsports thermostat, cooling system has been thoroughly gone through.
I can go on, and on. I am not really looking to sell this car at the moment. I would actually be more than happy to hold on to it. As explained, I have had my fun with E46 M3s at this point, and would like to consider exploring different platforms. Those who know, know just how rare LCI Laguna Seca Blue cars are. Happy to provide a compression check before trade, PPI, etc. I am an open book. Also happy to provide detailed walk around videos to anyone interested.

Correct! It was mostly an impulse buy I had just sold my previous M3 with the hopes of entering into a new platform. Sure enough, right back into an M3. I also had some additional context as to who was selling the car. He is an incredible client of the company I work for, and I have admired his collection for quite some time. I also knew just how well taken care of this car was (other bidders seemed uncertain, as they didnt have a complete picture )
I have put several hundred miles on the car in the past few weeks. Have a good idea in my head of what Id like to do to the car if I keep it. Before I make the investment, wanted to see if anyone had any fun trades to fulfill my wish of entering into a new platform.
BAT auction won on 9.16.24, listed on rennlist on 9.29.24, even with BAT fees for $10k profit if it sales or trades for asking price. Local on top, so no transport from east to west. Nothing wrong with that, nice car u got there

Thanks! The asking price denoted in the listing isnt what I want for the carit is more of a place holder (54321) a sequence of numbers, since I had to put something. Only looking for trades at the moment. Not willing to sell outright. Perhaps I should have been more clear.
Really just want to see what trades are out there (mentioned in body of ad) ultimately, I would be happy to keep the car. My aim is never to make money/profit from cars. Cars are a source of joy to me. Money is what I go to work for!
If you are interested in trading plus cash for a 26k mile 2015 cayman gts that is still under CPO warranty until July 2026. Let me know. I do miss my e46 m3 a ton.
For anyone looking it might be helpful to include that the car is an SMG since there it's not mentioned and there is not a photo of the interior facing the dash.

Thanks for all the comments and offers guys. I am just going to keep this car, not worth the hassle of trading it/dealing with comments. I will just buy something to pair with the E46 instead
Thanks again for everyones interestto those out there that have never driven/owned an E46 M3, they are truly gems.
Luckily, I am not a CA resident. I have been pulled over for speeding infractions, and have never been given a problem with Montana/out of state tags. YMMV.
