Hi there, still new to Porsche ownership and new to this forum. I did do a search prior so hopefully there wasn't something right in front of my face I missed.
Tl;dr I need a new manual transmission for my 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo. I've done a fair amount of searching but was told to post here as well. If you have any available or a car being parted out, let me know.
Why don't you have the bad transmission rebuilt? There are several shops that do a really good job at this. They can also get you a transmission if yours is missing or unrepairable. It's not cheap though.
Hey there! I was advised it would be cheaper to go the used direction than a rebuild. I was quoted a rebuild of $9,500 with a $2,000 install. But that is on the table if I can't source a used.
I'm located in Philadelphia, PA. The issue I have now with my transmission is a popping out of 3rd, sometimes a grind, and a very notchy "thunk" for 1, 2, and 3. I was told "Second Gear" located north of me is the place to go.

I'd also recommend just having your trans rebuilt and not rolling the dice on a used trans that may have similar issues. Best of luck op!
Yeah you're going to spend $10k on a used transmission and it will need to be rebuilt too.
I used California Motorsports to rebuild my 6TT gearbox and it's absolutely fantastic now.
