Description:
I've had my other 968 (black cabriolet) since 1995. It's my favorite car ever, but it has around 200k miles. I am active on the 968 section of this forum and enjoyed looking at other 968s that were available. The thing I'd look at first was the brightness of the orange gauges and the condition of the dash. This midnight blue coupe with a perfect dash and gauges, etc. became available and I bought it late 2017. Now after spending 5 years trying to get this coupe closer to perfect I decided to sale it and use the proceeds to fix up my other cars (I also bought an AMG GTS and I'm restoring my Mercedes 6.9).
Unique color Porsche's are more highly desired. Midnight blue I believe is the 4th most common color for 968s. But other than condition, mileage, and features, what makes this car so special is the interior. Porsche light grey interiors are nearly white. The carpet in particular would be very hard to maintain. This car was custom ordered with blue carpet. It was also ordered with black seat piping. I've seen few other Porsche's ordered like this. It really makes for an interior that will make this car a hit anywhere you take it. The car also has most of the other desirable features including LSD and most of the expected maintenance gremlins have already been worked out.
I believe I have all the maintenance records. The records seems to imply that the timing belt or not much of anything else had ever been replaced. But it was clear from the condition that the car was usually stored indoors. I had the timing belt, etc and water pump replaced mid 2019. The last couple of years many nagging type issues have occurred but I have worked through most of them. We replaced the starter, alternator, fixed the sunroof, replaced the door handle moldings. I had a paint detailer lined up to work on minor ding issues and they backed out and suggested I take it too a painter. The front fender had a couple of annoying mechanic induced type scratches that touching up the paint would not hide. A couple of painters convinced me to repaint the hood, front fenders, and side skirts. It came out well, but almost seemed overkill, as would repainting the rear half of the car.
The first picture in my collection is the best shot I have of the car and it was taken before I bought the car in 2017. I have removed most of the window tint since. I also included confusing images where the driver's seat is perfect and another with typical minor wrinkles. I had the front seats and steering wheel professionally "reconditioned" and they looked perfect..until I took it to the mechanic and paint shop.
Someone wanting to enter the car in shows would likely want to have the back half also repainted. It would be a solid #2 car at that point. Someone taking it to local meets would mainly have to decide if they want to fix or remove the rear wiper (I have it disconnected). You could have the seats reconditioned again and finish up minor road rash/scratch issues (mainly the side mirrors, one rear fender ding, and some road rash) on the back half of the car. There is a tad of carpet fraying, I think I broke one interior panel grommet, etc. if you extreme study the car. The tires (BFG) are dated from 2014 so starting to ride harder, but they are not showing any signs of dry rot, etc. I'd replace them in a few years, sooner if I planned to drive the car much.

I'm interested in your 968, but I don't see any pics of the interior, under-carriage, or the Options Decal in the trunk. Also, does this car have the M030 option? From what you've shown so far, I don't know if it's worth $39K, but maybe you can show me/us why. The interior needs to be flawless, the undercarriage clean with no rust, the rear under-carpet areas with no rust, dirt, etc. Also, a pic of all the receipts collectively, and individual shots of the ones where the timing belts, water pump were done would be expected. Also, why haven't you fixed such a minor repair as the sunroof piece that you showed? Not indicative of a person who meticulously took care of a 968 for this asking price. I'm not trying to be mean, I just want a fair representation of the car, and a fair asking price. Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish, at RedPorsche951@gmail.com
Thank you,
