Description:

Just took delivery of my 718 spyder, and im considering parting with my LWB for 18 ways. From my poking around, sounds like this is somewhat straightforward at a dealer?

I also sourced some Rstrada inserts from another Rennlist Member that are crafted from OEM Porsche Foam and fabric. If you're willing to cover the labor at a local dealer, I'd be willing to just trade with no additional cost to you - and I will include the rstrada inserts if you wish. These also have matching yellow stitched EdGuards - again, willing to include at no additional cost.

The real caveat here is that I would only be interested in Spyder 18-ways, with yellow stitching - which im guessing is a pretty tall order.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM and lets chat.

Holy crap that's a deal for someone, I'm sure you'll find someone willing to trade in no time!

I actually found the LWBs to be really comfortable in my gt4, I probably wouldn't get another GT car without it

time to drive the car to the states and swap!

Just fyi OP, I'm not so sure that your bucket seats have ever come with heating harness (I doubt this). I'd double check that all functions of the 18-way are available to be used on your car before doing the swap.
Much easier to go from 18-ways -> buckets than Buckets -> 18-Ways I believe

I have a pair of 18 ways that I’m not using, but they are black with gray stitching and have gt3 on the headrest. I’ve considered selling them. Let me know if you’re interested.

this is a good point, and something I hadn’t really considered.

candidly, if it doesn’t work out, I’m probably going to need to sell the car 😑. I know myself enough to know that being uncomfortable will lead to it just sitting undriven

appreciate the offer, but I’m set on matchy-matchy. I’m already a little heartbroken from as aesthetics perspective in that I vastly prefer the look of the LWB

my issue is the hip width - I’m just a hair too wide. Didn’t have this problem when I drove a LWB car at PECLA in ‘19, so assumed I’d be fine. Guess I’m just getting old

Post this in the 718 GT4/Spyder sub forum and I'll bet you have them gone in a day.

Dude.
1. Buy the seats you want outright.
2. Sell the buckets.
3. Profit

Youre leaving a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot of money on the table.

Just a thought, but I have basically new Sport Seat + seats in my 2021 Spyder with Yellow deviated stitching, with Alcantara sides and leather outers, which are the same seats as the 18 ways but more comfy than the 18 ways with ventilation I had in my last car, a 2019 Targa GTS. I debated whether to ger the 18 ways but after sitting in the Sport Seat + seats I did not see a need for the 18 ways since it is much easier to get in and out with the manual fore & aft adjustment/ However, they do not have lumbar but they do have power recline.

very interesting…leather outers meaning you had the backs of the seats done in leather? Would love to see pics. You’d be interested in trading?

No, just the bolsters, which have Yellow stitching as well. I am in Florida though so we would need to get uShip to move them. I have used them countless times though so it is a better option than shipping albeit that I also a possibility. I ordered my car and spec'd the seats since I was not sure I could live with the ones you have on a daily basis, but I only use it for weekend fun and not long trips so I could make do with them. I will post some pics soon.

Unless you want this to become exceedingly expensive I would look into sourcing The simpler manual sport seats with a single motor for the back rest. These match up with the single height adjustment wiring of the Buckets.

otherwise you need to rewire and change a lot of stuff.
