Why in the world would you order the GT-4 without bucket seats?

Because for some, the buckets are not as good as the sport seats.

I ordered a gt3 with buckets years ago and they were not good for the track. I moved around too much. They look great but didn't work for me. I took out the driver's seat and installed ay real track seat for track days.

GT4 ordered without buckets. See above.

Very personal choice but in my eyes, they look great but are not great in real life for many.

To original poster, nice cars!

I had bucket seats in one of our 981 GT4's and one of our 981 Spyders... we also had one each with the sport plus seats and I really preferred the sport seats. We're back on the market for a Spyder and I won't even consider buckets, personally. Nice builds.

I don't race or track my cars, though.

It would be interesting to know the number ordered by clients with bucket vs sports seats. I cancelled my first 2016 Spyder order because after the order, Porsche came out with a notice that buckets would not be available. (Priority was the GT cars) A month later buckets became available and I ordered one with them. Personally I would not get a GT car without buckets, but that is me. Again I suspect the number of GT cars ordered with buckets is significantly higher than sports seats.
John, what is the ratio that you have been seeing?

Walt

These seem like killer deals with most people asking $90k for a 2016 GT4

Walt, I agree that most prefer the LWB's but there are also those that don't for different reasons such as comfort due to different body sizes and what they are going to be using the car for etc.

I was going to track the car I'd want the buckets but otherwise GREATLY prefer sofa seats. I'd gladly take the 2 ways over the buckets.

I have standard 2-ways in my GT4 and like them. I'm tall and have trouble getting in/out of LWB's on lower cars such as my TTS and GT4. My TTS and CTT have 18-way adjustable seats which work well for me personally. If I was in the market LWB's would be a show stopper for that reason. JMO but you asked.

You saw one that was wrecked and sold with a salvage title.

Dealers literally have no idea how to order cars. It's crazy.

These were client ordered cars that had to pass them up due to changes in their lives that have affected some if not most of us in some way due to the pandemic..
