Description:

NEW PRICE!
GROUP BUY until 4th of July 2020 - EARLY ADOPTER OFFER

Rennkit(TM) Introduces
All New Porsche® 996 MK II Headlight

Rennkit now offering a brand-new headlight for the Porsche® 911 Series from 2001 through 2005, also known as 996 MK II.

All-new headlights featuring LED daylight halo ring, fog lamp and amber turn indicator. They do not include the HID bulb or ballast (transferred from existing headlamps). Both a black and silver version are available, for both HID and Halogen bulb headlamps used in the 996 Carrera, Carrera 4S, GT3 and Turbo vehicles.

Black Version Headlamp

Silver Version

The headlights come in silver and black versions. The hi/lo xenon bulb and ballast must be transferred from your OEM headlights. A Rennkit(TM) video describes the entire procedure. Removal, transfer of headlamp bulb / ballast and installation takes approximately 30 minutes and is an easy DIY project.

We have installed these on a 2002 996 Turbo and a 2004 996 Turbo without issue. They are very well made with an OEM quality and have a nice fit and finish along with rubber gasketing to prevent moisture intrusion.

Considering the cost of a new set of OEM headlamps is over $6200 (without bulb or HID ballast)...

Our price is $2195 for the pair, a great value considering the updated look, LED lighting and robust quality. At this time, expedited shipping direct from the manufacturer in Taiwan is $250. We hope to decrease this amount once the COVID 19 issue is behind us.

Are they rebuildable? If LED craps out, then what?

Very cool. I am thinking it might look better if the center of the light ring was silver and black everywhere else. Almost looks too blacked out on the car.

Also for cars with headlight washers does the headlight chassis need to be modified for these to seat fully, or just leave the headlight washer port unused underneath the new lights?

Thanks for all the questions. Will try to catch up with answers:

Again the link to much more info and pictures: https://rennkit.com/lighting/

1. Will work on idea about turn indicator integrated into halo ring. I like the suggestion. I assume you mean halo is white, but with blinker it turns yellow? This change may take some time unfortunately.
2. Separate gasket not available at this time. The gaskets on this HL housing are quite different than stock HL gaskets.
3. Headlight washer tube is left open. If there is a need, we can provide a small removable plug.
4. We'll work on the center beam silver and outer area black version. Another great suggestions that sounds interesting.
5. Warranty - unfortunately manufacturer is stuck on offering 1 year, but will keep hammering them. If we get several sets out there and after a year they are not showing any signs of defect, Rennkit will cover the second year.
6. Bad LEDs - I hear you paddlefoot64. Some early rear tails had an issue (though not produced by this manufacturer) which gave the P community a bad taste in their mouth. Manufacturer states pictures or a video of the defective LED is all it takes for a replacement.
7. 808Bill, this is the only picture of silver HL on black car, sorry. Once some of these come over and are installed, we can post more pictures!
