Description:
For sale is my low mileage, very well preserved and unmolested 1986 Porsche 944 turbo aka 951. This example is finished in Zermatt Silver / LY7Y over Linen interior w/ partial leather seats and powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four cylinder power plant paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle. This 951 has been fanatically maintained. Service work performed within the last 3000 miles :
*replacement of coolant hoses
*timing and balance shaft belts
*belt tensioner assembly
*waterpump
*thermostats
*oil and filter change
*new battery
*ignition wires, spark plugs, ignition cap and rotor
*brake fluid flush
* drain and fill transaxle
*drain and fill coolant
*other soft hoses inclusive of the vacuum lines were also replaced within the engine compartment.
* the fuel injectors have been cleaned and bench tested by Witch Hunter performance.
*the fuel rails have been serviced and fuel lines were replaced w Lindsey racing stainless steel lines.
* exhaust manifold, manifold studs and gaskets were all replaced.
* 2.5" Stainless exhaust tubing with a Magnaflow stainless performance muffler were also installed for a slightly throatier exhaust note. Exhaust hangers, gaskets and other wear items were also replaced.
*The front headlights and fog light bulbs were also upgraded to Hella lighting.
* the engine bulkhead seal and rear hatch seals were replaced
* the rubber mirror base gaskets and door handle gaskets were replaced
* new power steering belt and tensioner
* new throttle cable
* new LED gauge lighting
* new front suspension bushings and rear shocks
* new Continental Performance Tires w less then 800 miles

This low mileage 951 has appx 48.2K miles of easy use, as the ownership history includes mature PCA members/ professionals with no history of track use. The interior shows no cracks or warping of dash. The carpets are in great condition with no staining. The leather in un-cracked, and un-stained with only slight wear showing on drivers side entry bolster. Dash is perfect w no cracks, warping or fading! Headliner is intact and un-stained. The dash lighting has been upgraded to LED lighting. The sunroof functions as designed. Electric windows function well with the window regulators being replaced recently. Door handle and mirror base gaskets were also replaced, along w rear hatch rubber gasket. No common rattles from hatch area present. All other electrical components work as designed. All work was completed within the last 2000 miles and/or commencing in 11/2014 to present. This 951 shows 48,1xx miles currently and is*offered with a comprehensive binder containing service records and parts receipts. Also included are owner's literature, a window sticker, a clean California title, tool roll and tire air compressor.
The body is finished in Zermatt Silver / Porsche paint code LY7Y and comes with almost all original paint except the the drivers rear corner and rear bumper from a parking lot incident, which was repainted to repair a scratch. The additional paintwork photos along with other photos can be emailed by request.
Staggered-width 16´´ x 7"/8" phone dial wheels with no curb rash are mounted with Continental Extreme Contac tires showing late 2016 and mid 2017 date codes, with almost full tread.
The interior is trimmed in Linen leather and features leather seats, an electrically-operated sunroof, and power windows. The original Blaupunkt Monterey SQ23 stereo factory unit is still installed and functions. A factory alarm system was also optioned.
The turbocharged 2.5L inline-four was rated at 217 horsepower when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted 5-speed manual transaxle. Transaxle fluid was replaced within the last 3000 miles. The car shifts extremely well, with clutch operating as designed w no slippage.
