Gorgeous car. I had a 2002 M5 and miss it dearly. Sold it and replaced it with the 996TT. Love the Turbo but the daily driver/practicality aspect of the M5 was awesome....and I think it's one of the best sounding V8s ever made. GLWS!
No, I was going to get it repaired and hesitated to post other than in PMs.
Look at drivers weatherstripping too, I'd replace them all.
I did a couple of the window regulators now that I think about it.
The pass airbag also needs to be heated and repaired, relatively minor items but I spent my spare time this summer behind the wheel at the track and on house stuff.
If you want one that needs nothing at all, probably gonna spend 20
If I keep it through the winter it will be perfect in the spring for me or someone to enjoy.

Just a heads up, if you need to replace any regulators in the future, we offer a rebuild service (with metal replacement parts) for a fraction of what a new part costs.

You should do well in the BMW market selling those, every one I've owned has needed one or two.
For the uninitiated, they invariably break on a cold morning where the window is slightly frozen in place, then you may get some unplanned AC until replaced!

Yes, it works the same way on the opposite end of the spectrum as well. In a colder climate, the window becomes frozen to the door frame and when you go to roll it down the added resistance can cause the cable to rip through the plastic guides. In extreme heat, if your window tint is peeling, the tint adhesive will heat up and turn into a hot glue. Once the adhesive dries overnight the window adheres itself to the door frame and you get the same resistance and breakage. Luckily when we use metal, we're preventing this from happening and we also encourage people to get their tint replaced.
Came close to making the mistake of selling.
May put it back up in the Spring or Summer but will probably keep this and sell my silver one.
After cleaning it up it looks really nice and with one more weekend could be near perfect cosmetically.
Going through the receipts made me realize I'm into it over $20k too, easy to forget some purchases/fixes.
I'm going to install the new Hella euro headlights, facelift taillights and steering wheel, address an upper oil pan gasket that's leaking and drive a little more.
Thanks for everyone's interest.
