For Boxsters/Caymans, run a 10-17mm spacer for the rear. Front offset is the same so nothing needed there.
When I ran these on my 986 Boxster, I used a 15mm or 17mm spacer for that "flush" look.
If you have a 1997 Boxster, Porsche did not recommend 18" so be aware of that (chassis stiffening issue, I believe)
For 993 and 996 I wouldn't run any spacers
On my 997s, I used a small spacer on the rear to make it flush. No spacer in the front.
I have some other 18's on my 997 right now. Less unsprung weight is a good thing.
For AX, I ran these wheels on my 997s Hoosier 255's in the front, 315 in the rear. Class win at Parade with this configuration.

Ok, reading the posts will these fit a 2012 Boxster 987.2? I don't really understand how to figure out what size spacer I would need if any. I have the stock 17" cayman that came with the car and would like to change the wheels. Will 18" change the handlining of the car or the ride?
Thanks, for your help.

987.2 sizing
Looks like 987 sizing is 8" front ET57 and 9" rear ET43
The fronts would fit fine without a spacer (just as they did on my 997).
The rears would need a 17mm spacer as they would be too far "in" without one. Might work without a spacer, but I've never tried that and wouldn't recommend it. 17mm.
