So a year ago last May I picked up the carrera GTS and that was the catalyst for what is becoming a full blown Porsche obsession! I got rid of the Denali XL for the Macan GTS as the daily. I was unsure of the carmine so I called around the local dealers to see if they had one I could see in person. One did, the wife and I drive on up and I have absolutely no intention of buying, just want to see and decide if it's the color for me. Well it was, negotiated 8% off and 3 year prepaid maintenance free. Tastefully optioned, absolute blast to drive and sounds magnificent!
IIRC, the GTS has Sport Chrono and Air Suspension standard?
I've discovered that on non-pot-holed roads the 'correct' setting is 'sport mode' and another 'click' on the suspension button. That lowers the suspension and puts it in Sport Chassis+ mode. Really changes the handling and road feel.
Yo, Ranger520.
Quite the coincidence...I just ordered a Macan GTS myself, and I also own a Basalt Black 997GTS.
I test drove a (Carmine) Macan GTS in the Malibu Canyons last week and decided my wife needed a new car. Here is the Build: http://www.porsche-code.com/PJ1DPZI9. Went for the Euro Delivery (ED), pick up in Leipzig on Sep 5th, and will drive it down to the Val d'Orcia area of Italy for our 5 week vacation there. Have 6 months and 6000km to use it in Europe before mandatory shipment to the US, so intend to really wring it out after the 1000-mile break-in. The test-drive Macan I drove in LA was a beauty, optioned to the hilt, except for PTV- which I ordered. I am anxious to test that feature in the Alps. The ED includes Leipzig track time with a pro Porsche driver in an identical Macan GTS, and off-road course training in their GTS, as well. Also factory tour there and in Zuffenhuasen as we pass by on the way to Italy.
Enjoy your stable of Porsche's...I am eventually shipping my Macan from Europe to Atlanta to do the experience there in it, then drive I-10 to LA and do the one in Carson. Maybe we can get a beer at Max Lager's when I pass through hot 'lanta this November.
