Default ParkAssist worth it?

Looking at options...trying to decide if ParkAssist is worth it. Macan comes with front and back cameras standard, doesn't it? So PA would just be adding the sensors then...

Thoughts? (Note: New to the world of Porsche option mayhem )

I have park assist. I find it more annoying than useful. In Boston traffic it beeps at me a lot when other cars are close. When it's beeping like mad with a near-constant tone there's still 6 inches left. It has a tantrum when I back out of the garage. Etc.

Meh. I wouldn't pay extra for it.

It's less useful than Porsche Entry and Drive and I wouldn't pay for that either.

Worth it to me. Can be manually turned off in the overhead console.

I've always admired the people who can swivel around in their seat and drive backwards with confidence. I'll be able to watch Dave doing it this weekend, at Camp 928! I plan to designate his Macan the Official Camp Support Vehicle (if his wife brings it.)

I've never been that flexible - I have to use my mirrors, and go slow. A pedestrian snuck up into a blind spot just this morning while I was backing out. I'm looking forward to having it - in just two or three weeks now, oh boy.

The backup camera is useful. If it wasn't federally mandated as standard I'd want to add it as an option. Surround View is ok too, but it comes with the annoying Park Assist's too-nervously calibrated beepings.

You'll want to get the facts straight or you'll be liable to get a talkin'-to from CarChick: It's *her* Macan. She lets me drive it. If we're lucky we'll get to see her back it up while she's on a conference call.

We're heading out tomorrow at 13:00. (Yes, we're a day early.)

Surround View is nice to have, especially when pulling into a tight garage space, or parallel parking in a tight spot. ParkAssist is generally nice to have, but is somewhat negated by the overly sensitive warning (that occasionally goes off for no reason while sitting at a stoplight).

I had not originally planned to get this, but am glad I did for the Surround View.

Having the surround view, I can say it is definitely worth it. The park assist is a bit overly sensitive but you can turn it off and the surround view gives you all the info you need. Plus, if you are OCD about such things, it helps you park perfectly straight and centered in your spot every time.
