When is the first major service on the Macan S
I am thinking perhaps it might be at 30K. I am looking at a Macan S, and I've looked at 100s, I was wondering if this is the first major service?

guess it depends on what you consider major. @30K you replace the spark plugs and oil, but the 40K, that service gets the PDK fluids replaced along with the oil. Estimates on service is higher for the 40k, then the 30K service.

I will have to check with Porsche to find out what the 40K mile costs. If I were to purchase a 30K mile Macan, I might have a big bill forth coming. I would have to try and negotiate that cost into the sale price.

The manual states 30 K for the spark plugs but my SA said I could wait till 40K. I just had the 40K service done. When you combine oil change, spark plugs and PDK fluid change it can be quite pricey (~$1600). If you have the all season tires they may also need to be changed at 40 K (~$1400). The manual also states that you need to change the brake fluid every 20K or 2 years.

How difficult is it to change the spark plugs? If it is a DIY, then the costs would be considerably less.
My mechanic will change the oil for $20, if I bring him the oil and filter.

Spark plugs aren't too bad, remove the torque strut on the passenger side and remove the two T30s on the coolant reservoir to move it out of the way then it's just finding the right length extensions. Doing the belt on these cars is what's going to be pricey. Expect to see 4.5-5 hours for labor just for that, then thank Audi for the design.
