Default Upgrade S to Turbo Brakes?

Love the car but the only real weak point for me is the brakes. I'm wondering if the Turbo brakes can be retrofit as I'd prefer OEM to Brembo or StopTec. Cost is probably prohibitive but wondering if it can be done rotors and calipers without touching brain and master cylinder. Any info appreciated.

My guess is that you can replace with Turbo brakes with no issue. You might need a larger or Turbo brake master cylinder to pump out more brake fluids to the larger calipers. But even so, it really don't make a big difference and I think the brake master cylinder may be the same on both S and Turbo.

You're right, PET shows same part for the master cylinder for the S and turbo.

Maybe you can find the parts salvage from a crashed car?

Looking at PET, are the Macan Turbo brakes unique or a part shared with other vehicles?

Not sure you will see that much improvement. Rears are still single piston and I don't find that it stops that great on our turbo.

If the current brakes generate enough braking torque to activate ABS, the upgrade won't do much for making stopping distances shorter. The main advantage to big brakes is higher heat absorption capacity, so that they don't fade after repeated hard stopping (like you'd do at a track or maybe a mountain road). If you don't do that kind of driving, you don't need bigger brakes. http://www.centricparts.com/files/Wh...Selections.pdf

Have tracked it. Only part of the car that wasn't awesome was the brakes. BBK may be the solution if the turbo stopping power isn't any better. Other than lackluster brakes, the car is awesome.

I would try changing pads first if you plan to track the macan. Just daily driving our trunk hard, brakes are definitely a disappointment but wonder if it has to do with the pad compound. The stock GT4 pads seem much better.

Concur. Suggest you try something like HAWK HP+ or equivalent from Performance Friction or Carbotech. You'll get better initial "bite".

Don't forget to upgrade the brake fluid.
