Just drove a Macan GTS yesterday for the first time while getting my 911 serviced. Wow, what a car. I was super impressed and think this would be an excellent daily driver. Plenty quick, still has a great feel, and definitely more comfortable for everyday driving. And of course the 1,000 buttons in the center console we all love!

I did it backwards. We bought a Macan S for my wife's daily driver. Then 5 months later, I just had to go buy a 991 Carrera 4 for me.

Yes - agreed - the 1000 buttons we all love that have us looking down at them while were driving! Yeesh!

The Macan is a great DD and I've got a GTS waiting for me to pick up. I've had an S for 6 months and really enjoyed it. The GTS should be all that much better.

More buttons need to remember their last state and not reset to default when you startup. Please, just stay in sport mode! Really, 'sport' should be the default and 'Econ' or something the option. What does 'normal' mode mean anyway.

Agreed 100%. 'Normal' mode? I think it's like a 'normal' life. Driving the speed limit, stopping at every stop sign, watching the price of gas, eating three square meals a day, paying your taxes on time etc... not too exciting and to some degree living in a low-level degree of fear! Then's there's 'Sport' mode with some drama, noise, accelerating, etc... which = fun and what many people need more of!

Default same here

So I traded in a 981CS(14) after a year for a 991S(15) thinking that this would be a great think for my now 2 1/2 year old..Well it is not so great..after 15 months sold the 911 and got a Macan GTS...he actually thanked me today!!..he got a new carseat that is sweet..internet so he can use his iPad ..yes he knows how to!!!
Going back, I sold my 997S for the Cayman..I never should have done that..The 997 was a real keeper.actually drove one yesterday and loved it..Much more than the 991S..991 is a better car in every way except feel..and feel is the thing i love most of all..
@Zeus...I have been looking at Boxsters ALL DAY...coming from the 991S..i learned a big lesson..feel beats speed for me..i like a more raw mechanical feel..
So I will look..maybe at like a 2007 S..thought about a Cayman S (987) but i think I want top down again..
The Macan GTS is by far the best daily driver I have ever had!!

Default Macan Turbo

I absolutely love my Macan. Just back from a tour and the Macan had no problem hanging with and in some cases pulling away from the 911s, Caymans, and Boxters. The car screams and handles like a 911.

Yeah, Porsche likes to refer to the Macan as a "big" 911. I think they're right. On the Autobahn, it's very stable and easily capable of speeds in excess of 130 mph.

Sounds like you've run the Macan in the fatherland. did that 2 years ago with a 911. Great fun.

I had a CayenneS for 3 years but the Macan is a different animal. So nimble and quick. Porsche really has created a winner here!

i have a 16 991 turbo cpe and just traded my m4 for a macan gts. looking forward to it. have had a '15 macan s and two '16 macan s's. nice, but not enough fun. i must be a slow learner or nuts (my wife and friends vote for nuts)....but i am hoping four times is a charm. i have had two 991 gts' and they were great...so hoping i love the macan gts! macan's are not 911's...great suv's....but not 911's.

I started this thread wondering about trading 911 for a Macan GTS. Pulled the trigger today and traded for a sapphire blue GTS. Tough decision but a good one for me. Happy so far but only 40 miles but first coat of sealant/wax.
